More than a Personality Profile
The Transcendental Types (or T-Types) are not just a personality profile — they’re a spiritual map rooted in Scripture, the Saints, and Catholic tradition. Discovering your T-Type helps you see how you encounter God, love others, and live your unique mission — illuminating your path to holiness.
From the earliest days of the Church, saints and theologians saw in the four Gospels not four different Christs, but one Lord revealed through four radiant faces. St. Irenaeus taught that the lion, ox, man, and eagle of Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 1:10) symbolize the fourfold revelation of Jesus: the mind of Truth (Matthew), the strength of Goodness (Mark), the heart of Unity (Luke), and the mystery of Beauty (John).
These are not poetic symbols alone — they express something essential about God Himself. Truth, Goodness, Unity, and Beauty are what philosophers and saints call the Transcendentals — the very qualities that mark God’s being and radiate through all creation. They are not personality traits or archetypes, but divine fingerprints: reflections of how God loves, acts, and draws all things to Himself.
Each of us resonates most naturally with one of these divine qualities. It is the way we most easily recognize God’s presence and the way we most instinctively reflect His love. But this resonance is not only personal — it is missional. The divine light that shines most brightly in us also points to how we are called to serve: to bring Truth that enlightens, Goodness that heals, Unity that reconciles, or Beauty that awakens.
The Transcendental Types invite us to see ourselves — and one another — through this sacred fourfold vision: four ways of seeing, four ways of loving, and four missions that together reveal the fullness of the One Lord who is Truth, Goodness, Unity, and Beauty.
